The Sustainat story combines real filmed scenes, AI-created photographic presenter images, interactive 3D, and narrated explanations.

Real-world footage

Selected scenes use licensed Adobe Stock footage: cotton harvesting (493769459), handloom weaving (598895320), sewing (509895883), restaurant food preparation (501337899), and a seedling held in a hand (194661836). These clips were listed in Adobe’s free collection when licensed. They illustrate the processes described; they do not depict verified Sustainat suppliers or outcomes. Original sound is removed. Select Explore 3D to return to an interactive scene.

Illustrative product

The opening cotton T-shirt is an AI-created product concept using the existing Sustainat logo. It introduces the finished item before its material journey; it does not represent available inventory. The still uses restrained camera motion, and the process scenes are illustrative.

Photographic presenters

The branded woman and man in the garden and textile workshop are fictional, AI-created photographic images. Their clothing carries the Sustainat logo. Camera movement and pointer response are applied to these still images; they are not filmed speaking performances.

Interactive 3D characters

The visitor and guide are separately shaped male and female variants of the MPFB human created by met4citizen for TalkingHead, using MakeHuman/MPFB. The author releases this specific model under CC0. Adaptations include distinct face and body proportions, different hair, Sustainat-branded garments created in Blender, skin microtexture, fabric detail, natural poses, and facial animation. Both variants derive from the same base model; they are authored avatars, not scans of real people.

Facial shapes follow audio-derived phonetic mouth cues from Rhubarb Lip Sync. Gestures follow spoken phrases and blend authored poses, with listening reactions, restrained breathing, blinking, and responsive gaze. This is procedural animation, not performance capture. Models use Meshoptimizer compression (MIT licence).

Presenter appearance review

The male photographic likeness sample is an AI-assisted edit of photos supplied by the user, who requested that the face and hairstyle be used. The reference clothing and logo are retained, with a new studio background and lighting. It is a still appearance reference pending user review, not a finished 3D model or speaking performance.

The local appearance review uses adapted Microsoft Rocketbox Male_Adult_11 and Female_Adult_17 characters, distributed under the MIT licence. Their original photographic skin, clothing textures, rig and facial shapes are preserved. Adaptations include relaxed arms, a Sustainat chest emblem and browser material preparation. These are photo-textured 3D avatars, not filmed performers or new cinematic scans. This review is separate from the story characters pending appearance approval.

Additional film scenes

Licensed Adobe Free collection footage shows real trees, planting hands, flowing water, sunlight, lightning, cooking, food ordering and handoff, travel, healthcare, classrooms, professional dialogue, solar installation, electricity metering, warehouse inventory, recycling, ocean waves, fruit, and finished clothing. Film movement stays at its recorded speed. Scrolling selects frames and narration positions. The footage is illustrative; figures and outcomes require evidence.

The Sustainat logo

The original logo is supplied by Sustainat. Its tree, five elements, protective hand, fruit, and symbolic storm are explained through six interactive stages. The opening uses an authored interactive fruit tree shaped around the logo: a rounded green crown, a slim trunk, a thin layer of earth, and one open palm. The palm is adapted from the same CC0 MPFB human model. An optional film view combines real tree and nature footage; the oak and lemon branch are a symbolic montage, not one tree filmed growing fruit. The storm represents environmental harm; it is not a scientific claim about the cause of lightning.

Natural materials and lighting

Scanned Bark Brown 02, Farm Soil, Cotton Jersey, and the Courtyard daylight environment are from Poly Haven, released under CC0. The fruit tree was authored in Blender with separate roots, tapered branches, leaf clusters and fruit, with a lighter version for background scenes.

Sound & narration

English, Spanish, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil visitor and guide voices are AI-generated with Microsoft neural speech voices using edge-tts. The 295 prerecorded dialogue and logo-story clips are served directly by Sustainat. Captions use synthesis word timing; mouth cues are extracted from the finished audio with Rhubarb’s language-independent phonetic recognizer. No microphone recording or runtime speech service is used. Translations and pronunciation have not received independent native-speaker review.

Sound consists of spoken narration, with no background music or ambient noise. Sound is enabled by default. If your browser blocks autoplay, tap Start sound. Mute and volume controls remain available.

Technology & goals

3D rendering uses Three.js, under the MIT licence.

The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals guide Sustainat’s ambition. The story’s connections to the goals are illustrative and do not represent verified impact or UN endorsement.

Product journeys and sample profiles are demonstrations. Platform access and service availability are described separately in the directory.
